What does this mean? And why is people such idiots?

Ok. I play only anonymously, because i dont care about ratings and I dont want to know my opponents level beforehand. That's more adventourous. But very very often, when an opponent realizes he/she will loose there is a line "FUCK YOU PIDORAS" or "FUCK YOU PIDOR" in the chat and the opponent goes offline.

What does pidor/pidoras mean? my name is not that, so I whonder who it is directed to? And how can a human being be pissed off on another person when they them selves are the reason for loss. ???

Is it only me? This happens about every third game or so. pretty annoying...
It is Russian slang for a homosexual.

It isn't only you. If I play anonymously, I often find that the person either disappears if they are losing or becomes abusive.
ahaha, dont worry, guys. dont you know russians are quite special?
both on privat level as well as on country and resident level :)
I think, they try to show following by doing it:
1) they are russian
2) they can offence you anonimiously without any respond, because, you even dont understand what they are saying

there are some cultural differences, as you already guess :)
Это их проблемы. Мы их птичий язык знаем, пусть учат наш.
А не можешь срть - не мучай жпу.)))

It only depends on the level of culture, not on nation. Some people try to compensate their low level of game by insulting their opponent. Sadly, but nothing to deal with it I think... Be people first of all. Chess is only a game. And you do not lose a cow...
and.. no offence to all you Russians that arent like this but some Russians are very racist and also over patriotic and rude. mostly rude we understand that you love your country but you dont need to rub it everyones faces.
most of you guys are nice but i think that there are probobly a couple that give the rest of you a bad name.
sorry for you
It happens all the time, regardless of nationality. I once asked what 'pidor' meant, and an interesting lecture regarding the etymology of the word followed. It was a good conversation.
I'm sick of players getting all riled up about so-called "abuse" that goes on here.

Name calling or "bad words" is no reason for banning a player.

If someone is being "abusive" towards you, you can turn off the chat during the game or even block that person for the future.

Personally I take it in stride and good humor when players get mad at me.
Dionysus_god: It is not 'so-called' abuse. As it would be unacceptable at any other chess venue, I do not see why it should be tolerated here.
MichaiahWa: I have lived in Russian. Not all Russians are rude and those who are rude chose to be so, especially when it comes to taking the time to write. They have a choice like everybody else. I neither wish to insult them by stereotyping them (as rude), neither do I think that they should be given a blank cheque to misbehave.
