Cheating Players

When players who beat us using computer assistance why do we lose the rating points? This isn't fair. Wondering what others thought. Thanks.

If they weren't marked as a cheater at the time you played them, you will lose rating points. if they were, you won't.

I see that you resigned against someone who was rated 1500 were you scared he was going to engine it? just saying 10 moves is short seems way back has made a remarkable jump to 2343 in only a couple of games.
