Why are cheaters no longer marked ?

Maybe he got flagged as a cheater only after you played him?
Yeah Lichess team! Why can't you code something to automatically detect people who are going to be cheaters before they become blatant about it? To make an account there should be like some NSA background checks, retina scans, maybe some sort of 8 page psychological survey. I mean, c'mon, otherwise all the anonymous players suffer from not knowing beforehand!

... sorry I just don't understand this thread.

Perhaps you're confused, the thread is nothing to do with playing anonymously, its about why cheaters are no longer marked as such.
Well I guess that I am indeed the one that is confused, since when I load the profile, he is marked. idk what your issue is, especially since you never played him rated to begin with. They are being marked. Maybe he was not known to be a cheater before you played him. Now he is, and is marked. gg pointless forum thread.
Yes he is marked on his PAGE as a cheater, but his rating remains at 1698 and there was no exclamation mark next to his name (!) in game, which is how it was before to indicate a cheater.
Oooh ok, I see now. Sorry about the confusion and thank you for the clarification because I had absolutely no idea what you were talking about. His rating looks as though it was locked sometime last week and no one has lost/gained points from playing him. I am not sure why there is no longer a mark in game when you join their game...I've never seen one in game before, just on their profiles, so I didn't know what the heck you were talking about.
Yep just seen said cheater online (whilst logged in) and there's no exclamation mark next to his name, and rating sitting nicely at 1698....in other words theres no clue that he's a cheater unless you visit his page.

So umm yeah why did they change this little detail ? I guess we'll never know because Thiabault and Clarkey NEVER answer any questions I post.
