GM Roeland Pruijssers

Hello! My name is Roeland Pruijssers, I am a 34 year old Grandmaster from the Netherlands. I learned chess from my dad when I was 4 years old. Since then I have played in tournaments and competitions which eventually earned me the title of Grandmaster. I have taught many students over the years of which some have titles themselves now. Nowadays I am also a Chessable Author and I have made chessvideo's for websites like Chess24, Chessbase, Chess.com and GingerGM.com

Famous opponents include: Magnus Carlsen, Anish Giri, Wesley So and many more.
Grandmaster since 2012. After earning my University degree in Psychology in 2013, I played chess professionally for many years. Some of my most memorable results include: Topscorer of the 2012/13 Dutch competition with 8,5 out of 9 and a TPR of 2887, 2nd place at the Dutch National Championship 2022, Shared 3rd place at the Dutch National Championship of 2023. Winner of the Open Leiden chesstournament in 2008, 2016 and 2018, Shared winner of the Mumbai Open in 2018.

4 years ago I started teaching fulltime. Before that I occasionally gave lessons, did simuls, gave lectures, and helped friends to get better.

Solving tactical positions and learning openings

I offer a personalized training programme based on your personal needs. We will take a look at your games and at your thought process during games to find out how and where you can improve.

I offer a training package of 10 lessons with discount:

10 lessons of 0.5 hour: 350, -

10 lessons of 1 hour: 665, - (5% discount)

10 lessons of 1.5 hours: 945, - (10% discount)

10 lessons of 2 hours: 1190, - (15% discount)

(for single lessons, 70 euro’s per 1 hour.)

Included in the package is a free intake session of a half an hour where we get to know each other and talk about how to start raising your level of chess. Also, you get one free lesson(!) if by your recommendation another person orders a package.
